Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) research overview

Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a heterodimeric glycoprotein hormone that activates the luteinizing hormone/choriogonadotropin receptor (LHCGR). It is not a short synthetic peptide.

What is hCG?

Structural studies have resolved hCG and, more recently, full-length LHCGR states. Cell research shows that hCG and LH can produce distinguishable signaling patterns despite sharing a receptor.
