Semaglutide (GLP-1) research peptide

Semaglutide is a synthetic, acylated peptide analog of human glucagon-like peptide-1, commonly abbreviated as GLP-1. It shares approximately 94% sequence homology with native human GLP-1 and selectively interacts with the GLP-1 receptor. The peptide contains 31 amino-acid residues and incorporates several structural modifications. Alanine at position 8 of native GLP-1 is replaced with 2-aminoisobutyric acid, also known as Aib, which increases resistance to enzymatic degradation by dipeptidyl peptidase-4. Lysine at position 26 is modified with a hydrophilic spacer and a C18 fatty diacid chain, supporting albumin binding and extending the molecule’s duration of activity. Lysine at position 34 is replaced with arginine to permit selective acylation at Lys26. Semaglutide is widely studied in metabolic, biochemical and receptor-signaling research, including investigations involving glucose-dependent insulin signaling, glucagon regulation, appetite-related pathways, gastric emptying and energy metabolism. This product is intended strictly for laboratory research, analytical testing and in-vitro experimentation. It is not intended for human or veterinary use, diagnostic procedures, food use or household applications.
